A 3rd-century Chinese text speaks of the Japanese drinking and dancing. Japan’s first written history, contains the earliest Japanese reference to sake. The Kojiki was compiled in 712 AD.
First SakE
Tribes from Jiahu in the Yellow River Valley of China made a fermented fruit wine, rice, and honey wine and stored it in earthenware jars in the Henan province, approximately 7,000– 6600 BC .
First Wine
Israel, Georgia, Armenia, and Iran, winemaking facilities from 4,000 BC have been discovered with large earthenware vessels submerged in the ground. In Georgia, earthenware vessels called Kvevri are still used today.
